Announces Hiring of
San Francisco Field Director
March 29, 2007 - The organization
Restore Hetch Hetchy today announced the hiring of Tuan A. Nguyen to the
position of San Francisco Field Director. Based in San Francisco,
the Field Director will have the responsibility of educating San Franciscans
about the many positive aspects of Restore Hetch Hetchy's growing campaign
to restore Yosemite National Park's Hetch Hetchy Valley to its natural state,
with a "win-win" outcome for San Francisco and its water and
power customers. The Field Director will interact with elected officials,
community leaders, and neighborhood and civic organizations, and will report
to Restore Hetch Hetchy's Sonora-based Executive Director, Ron Good.
"We
are lucky and extremely pleased to have an individual with the experience
and enthusiasm of Tuan Nguyen join our team of dedicated staff and volunteers," said
Good from Sonora. "His love of Yosemite National Park, and his
energetic, hands-on political and organizing experience in San Francisco
will be invaluable assets in our future efforts," Good added.
Nguyen
is a 2002 graduate of SF State in Broadcast and Communication Arts. Most
recently he served as the Campaign Manager for Ron Dudum in the 2006 race
for the District 4 Supervisor's seat. Earlier in 2006, he was the
Field Organizer for Assemblywoman Fiona Ma's successful run for the State
Assembly. His previous experience includes work with the SF Department
of Elections and the United Way.
"Working with Restore Hetch Hetchy
on its exciting campaign is a perfect fit for me," said Nguyen. "I
have a passion for Yosemite National Park and an abiding belief in the 'Nguyen-win'
situation of the push to restore Hetch Hetchy Valley to its proper place
as an integral part of Yosemite National Park - the crown jewel of our national
park system. This can be done with no harm to San Francisco and I
look forward to conveying that message throughout our great City."

Please join our effort to restore the Hetch Hetchy Valley!
